Senior Community Research and Grants Management Officer

Sandi Smith leads the implementation of many of The Columbus Foundation’s grantmaking priorities, including leadership in the areas of capacity building and leadership development. In addition she serves as the lead officer for the Ingram-White Castle Foundation, Columbus Youth Foundation, and Limited Brands Foundation.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Sandi was president and CEO of the Madame Walker Theatre Center in Indianapolis, Indiana as well as deputy director/performing arts director for the The King Arts Complex in Columbus.

Sandi graduated cum laude from Capital University with a bachelor’s degree in art with a marketing minor.   She pursued  postgraduate studies in Arts and Public Policy at The Ohio State University.

Active in the philanthropic community, Sandi serves as the chair of the steering committee of the Capacity Building Initiative: Strengthening Growing Organizations, and on the boards of the Foundation for the African Diaspora, Mt. Olivet Federal Credit Union, and is on the advisory committee of the Cleveland Foundation Center.  She is an active member of the Alliance for Nonprofit Management.
