Summer Fellowship For Students

The Columbus Foundation’s Summer Fellowship program will place a limited number of students with Franklin County nonprofit organizations for a period of 10 weeks. Most Fellowships will be from the week of June 14, 2010 through August 20, 2010. Finalist will be interviewed by nonprofits during March and April 2010 for selection. A stipend will be paid to fellows through the nonprofit’s payroll system. Students selected to be Fellows during one year are prohibited from applying the following years.
Eligibility
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Be a college junior or senior in fall 2010 pursuing a four-year degree, or a graduate student; and
- Be a graduate of a Franklin County high school attending any four-year college or university; or
- Be a junior, senior, or graduate student attending a Franklin County college or university.
Other highly desirable qualifications include:
- A strong academic record (preferably a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or above).
- Strong English verbal and written communications skills.

Complete the program application form and submit via e-mail along with your:
- Resume.
- Official cumulative transcript.
- Two signed letters of recommendation from individuals familiar with your academic work, employment experience, or community/volunteer activities. Recommendations from family members or personal friends will not be accepted.
- A typed (double-spaced) autobiography of no more than two pages. Please discuss your interest in the nonprofit sector, why you are applying for the summer Fellowship program, and your previous work and volunteer experiences. The essay will help the selection committee learn more about you and evaluate your writing skills.
