Introduction to Grantmaking

Grants Opportunities

Our staff spends thousands of hours meeting with local nonprofits and examining their programs. Thanks to these ongoing conversations with local leaders, we not only have a pulse on the community, but recognize emerging issues that affect the lives of men, women, and children in central Ohio.

We award competitive grants to support these organizations from the Foundation's unrestricted and field of interest funds, as well as from our affliated Supporting Foundations.

The Foundation develops special initiatives to address community needs.  One of these initiatives, the Critical Need Alert, is produced periodically throughout the year to increase awareness of donors regarding issues that need immediate attention.  This year, the Foundation will introduce a Community Improvement Project (CIP), a special initiative that is designed to produce measurable community improvement regarding a prevailing issue in central Ohio.  The CIP will be announced in 2008.
