Lucy Bernholz is the founder and president of Blueprint Research & Design, Inc., a strategy consulting firm specializing in program research and design for philanthropic foundations. Author of Creating Philanthropic Capital Markets: The Deliberate Evolution, Lucy is a noted analyst of the philanthropic industry and manages Philanthropy 2173, a blog about trends in the social sector and the future of philanthropy. She has worked as a program officer and consultant to foundations since 1990 and has developed grant strategies for foundations, individuals, and corporations. 
Lucy earned her bachelor’s degree from Yale University and her master’s degree and doctorate from Stanford University. Lucy is on the advisory boards of the Philanthropic Initiative for Racial Equality, YouthGive, Social Venture Partners Bay Area, the National Philanthropic Trust, and The Grantmaking School.

Katya Andresen develops and executes Network for Good's marketing strategy, including consumer outreach, media relations, corporate partnerships, and nonprofit marketing. Before joining Network for Good, she was senior vice president of Sutton Group, a marketing and communications firm supporting nonprofits, government agencies, and foundations working for the social good. Previously, Katya was a marketing consultant overseas, promoting causes ranging from civil society in Ukraine to ecotourism in Madagascar. She is the author of Robin Hood Marketing: Stealing Corporate Savvy to Sell Just Causes and co-author of a chapter in People to People Fundraising - Social Networking and Web 2.0 for Charities. Katya traces her passion for good causes to the enormous social need she witnessed as a journalist prior to her work in the nonprofit sector.

Matthew Bishop is American business editor and New York bureau chief for The Economist. Co-author of Philanthrocapitalism and author of Essential Economics, Matthew examines how today’s leading philanthropists are revolutionizing the field using investment strategies to impact the world. He formerly served on the faculty of London Business School, where he co-authored three books for Oxford University Press. Matthew has served as both a member of the Sykes Commission on the investment system in the 21st Century and the advisors group of the United Nations International Year of Microcredit. Matthew has been honored as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum and is a graduate of Oxford University.

Jacob Harold oversees grants in the Hewlett Foundation’s Philanthropy Program, which works to improve the practice of philanthropy. The Foundation seeks to improve the outcomes achieved by nonprofit organizations by supporting the development of research, planning, and evaluation tools to help donors and foundations learn how to achieve greater results from their giving. Jacob previously worked for the Bridgespan Group, the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, Rainforest Action Network, and Greenpeace USA. Jacob received a bachelor’s degree summa cum laude from Duke University and an MBA from the Standford Graduate School of Business. He trained in business strategy with Bain and Company, learned grassroots organizing in Green Corps, and studied complex systems science in Beijing at the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

 

Lori Larson
Director of Knowledge Development, Greater Kansas City Community Foundation 

Lori Larson oversees the research and analysis necessary to manage technical and content knowledge resources at the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation. She directs the continuous improvement of the DonorEdge 360, a customized, confidential report prepared for nonprofits to analyze organizational strengths and opportunities. Lori is also involved in the development of the Charitable Investment Review, a product designed to help donors best make social investments to achieve individualized charitable goals. Lori serves on a cross-foundation team to design, develop, and implement the new GuideStar DonorEdge technology platform. Before moving to Kansas City, Lori was the operations manager of a multi-entity oil and gas corporation in Houston, TX. She received a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and a master’s degree in finance from Baker College.  c

Dan Moore is vice president of nonprofit programs at GuideStar USA, Inc. Throughout his career, Dan has worked to improve the exchange of information between nonprofits and the public and has used technology to accomplish this vital goal. As the chief charity regulator for the state of New Mexico, he advanced the cause of nonprofit transparency by bringing nonprofit information online through a partnership with GuideStar. While serving as president of the National Association of State Charity Officials (NASCO), he led the development and launch of the organization’s website. Dan joined GuideStar in 2003 and today heads the team that manages GuideStar’s relationships with individual nonprofits that make up the GuideStar database. He holds a bachelor's degree from Miami University and a master’s degree from the University of New Mexico. A nationally recognized expert on nonprofit accountability, Dan is also a passionate advocate for nonprofit transparency.

Robert Ottenhoff is president and CEO of GuideStar USA, Inc. In this role, Bob is responsible for the strategic execution of the GuideStar mission, fundraising to support this mission, and is the liaison with GuideStar's board of directors. He has 25 years of management experience in public broadcasting and high-tech companies, including 9 years as chief operating officer of the Public Broadcasting Service. Bob has become intimately familiar with the opportunities and challenges facing nonprofits and currently serves on the board of Vision TV, Grameen Foundation USA, AAFRC Trust for Philanthropy, and the e-Philanthropy Foundation. Bob holds a master's degree in planning from Rutgers University.

Jessica Reid is research director at Resource Interactive, one of the nation’s top independent digital marketing agencies. In this role, Jessica translates online consumer behavior into actionable business strategies for a Fortune 500 client roster—including Victoria’s Secret PINK, L.L. Bean, Bose, and Wal-Mart.
