Grantmaking Focus

The Columbus Youth Foundation is dedicated to supporting recreation and sports programs serving underprivileged youth in Franklinton and other urban neighborhoods of Columbus.   Proposals submitted for unrelated projects will not be considered.

Grant Application Instructions

The Columbus Youth Foundation has an annual grantmaking cycle.   Applicants are required to contact staff member to discuss project ideas prior to submitting a letter of intent.  The Columbus Youth Foundation online application is  accessible beginning in the month of November, and all applications must be submitted by the second Monday in January. Consult the events calendar for the actual deadline date.

After submitting a Letter of Intent, only those applications that best fit the foundation’s grantmaking interests and are strongly competitive will be forwarded to the full proposal stage. The applicants that move to this phase of the proposal process will be notified of the full-application deadline via e-mail.  Decisions for these applications are announced in April.

Only those applications following the official application process can be accepted. For those unfamiliar with the foundation’s application process, you are strongly encouraged to attend one of the grant workshops that are held throughout the year. These workshops offer an overview of the grant application processes for all supporting foundations and The Columbus Foundation. Consult the events calendar for specific dates and registration.
