Arts and Culture Grants
Grantmaking Focus
The arts play an essential role in community enrichment, adding beauty and inspiration, and offering avenues for self-expression. The Columbus Foundation supports high-performing agencies whose work serves to enhance arts and culture in central Ohio.
Through its Major Arts funding, the Foundation is able to support organizations with budgets at or above $350,000 per year. For small and medium-sized organizations with budgets less than $350,000, the Foundation offers the Community Arts Fund. Groups whose initiatives meet community needs, expand arts and cultural programming, or provide education are eligible for consideration.
Major Arts organizations are asked to review the Foundation's Major Arts fiscal policy and audit requirement prior to submitting an application.
Grant Application Instructions
Applicants for Arts and Culture grants must submit an online application. Organizations that have never received funding must contact Sandi Smith by e-mail or at 614/251-4000 prior to applying for arts funding. The deadline for arts proposals is the second Friday in October. Consult our events calendar for a specific date. A PowerPhilanthropy portrait is required for arts funding. Organization audits are included in PowerPhilanthropy portraits; please refer to the Foundation's audit requirement.
The Columbus Foundation asks all nonprofit organizations that receive funding to help promote the
vital role philanthropy plays in strengthening our community, and the importance of charitable
giving to your organization’s effort to carry out its mission.
