Grantmaking Focus
The Traditional Grants Program creates quality opportunities and meets community need by focusing on: Basic Needs (food, shelter, clothing); Disadvantaged Children; and Mental Retardation & Developmental Disabilities (particularly in children and young adults).
Grant Application Instructions and Deadlines
Letter of Intent deadlines are twice a year on the first Friday in March and September. For specific dates please consult the Foundation's event calendar. Full Applications for Traditional Grants are accepted online.
Completed and updated PowerPhilanthropy portraits are required for submission of the Full Application. Organization audits are included in PowerPhilanthropy portraits; please refer to the Foundation's audit requirement.
The Columbus Foundation asks all nonprofit organizations that receive funding to help promote the
vital role philanthropy plays in strengthening our community, and the importance of charitable
giving to your organization’s effort to carry out its mission.
Reporting Requirements
Final Reports are due 30 days following the end of the grant period.
