Dan Moore is a nationally recognized speaker on transparency, accountability, regulatory compliance, and ethical nonprofit practice. He oversees the GuideStar Exchange, a program that encourages nonprofits to voluntarily share information about their mission, programs, and outcomes.

A graduate of Miami University with a master’s degree from the University of New Mexico, Dan Moore has over 15 years of experience in the nonprofit sector. He served as the chief charity regulator for the State of New Mexico from 1996 until 2002, before joining GuideStar.

GuideStar’s mission is to revolutionize philanthropy and nonprofit practice by providing information that enhances transparency, enables users to make better decisions and encourages charitable giving. Through its website, www.guidestar.org, GuideStar delivers the most comprehensive and valuable information about nonprofits based in the United States.  GuideStar powers online giving systems, charity verification services and research and analysis for leading foundations, donor advised funds, and government decision makers.

Mr. Moore is leading GuideStar’s efforts with the DonorEdge Learning Community, a program with leading community foundations to gather, analyze, and display nonprofit information to encourage charitable investments in participating communities. 

Mr. Moore also oversees efforts to provide access to GuideStar’s nonprofit data at over 130 colleges and universities through its Edu@GuideStar program. This free public service compliments academic programs aimed at developing the next generation of nonprofit and community leaders.
