THE COLUMBUS FOUNDATION INTRODUCES A POWERFUL
NEW ONLINE TOOL CONNECTING DONORS AND NONPROFITS
Columbus, OH (February 14, 2008)—The Columbus Foundation announces the launch of PowerPhilanthropy, a revolutionary online resource designed to connect people with nonprofit organizations and programs that strengthen the central Ohio community.
PowerPhilanthropy, available at www.columbusfoundation.org, allows users to search an online database of more than 340 central Ohio nonprofit organizations. Each nonprofit has created a custom portrait detailing their mission, programs offered, finances, as well as the results of their efforts. PowerPhilanthropy was created to help donors build an understanding of the charitable causes most important to them and their community, and provide donors with the knowledge and resources needed to make effective giving decisions. PowerPhilanthropy also allows donors to contribute and mange their accounts safely and securely online, from anywhere at anytime.
The Columbus Foundation takes its responsibility at the forefront in philanthropy seriously, and has been researching and developing PowerPhilanthropy for three years. The easy-to-use, comprehensive resource is the first of its kind focused on the central Ohio community, and is available around the clock, every day.
“We firmly believe the most important tool we can provide donors in the community is knowledge,” said Doug Kridler, president and CEO of The Columbus Foundation. “By sharing our expertise and understanding of the needs of the community and those organizations providing support, we can help people engage in the most effective philanthropy possible.”
