Columbus Dispatch: Alan Miller: Central Ohio's future starts with conversation around Big Table

By Alan D. Miller, The Columbus Dispatch

What are you talking about this week? On Wednesday, more than 5,000 Columbus-area residents are expected to participate in at least 500 conversations to be held across the region as part of the Columbus Foundation’s “Big Table.”

Think about it: Some of our best conversations happen while seated around the dinner table with family and friends. Borrowing from that concept, the foundation decided last year to extend the conversation to tables — and living-room couches, lawn chairs, church pews or any other place people want to gather.

The hosted conversations of eight to 12 participants each will revolve around a snack or meal, where people can express ideas about the strengths and challenges we face as a community.
