Columbus Dispatch: Columbus Foundation announces return of The Big Give

By Rita Price, The Columbus Dispatch

The Columbus Foundation celebrated its 2016 philanthropy results Wednesday morning — a tally that includes a record $205.8 million in grants awarded — and announced the return of The Big Give.

The one-day, online giving rally is back for the first time in more than two years, when donors pledged about $15 million to area charities.

This year’s Big Give is set to run from 10 a.m. Oct. 10 through noon Oct. 11 at columbusfoundation.org.

Officials are expanding it beyond Franklin to include nonprofit organizations in nine other central Ohio counties: Delaware, Fairfield, Hocking, Licking, Madison, Morrow, Perry, Pickaway and Union. The Big Give also will offer an option to support the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund of the Houston Community Foundation, a fund created by Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner.
